About & methodology
Clear context. Honest coverage.

What is counted
The homepage counters are calculated from the entries included in the public demo registry: distinct products, technology categories, and distinct parent-organization names. They do not represent active scans, users, downloads, or millions of monitored devices. Adding a real catalogue can expand these numbers; a target is not counted as coverage.
What a report means
Each report brings together ownership, jurisdiction, security record, and third-party exposure. Facts come from public records and are linked on each report. The presence of a company, country, or logo is not proof of a security incident or wrongdoing.
How scores are made
Nothing is typed in by hand: each of the four numbers is computed from the sourced facts on the report, so a score can never say more than the evidence does. This is a rubric applied to public records, not a technical audit of the product.
- Data jurisdiction. Starts from where the ultimate parent is based (88 for low-risk countries, 55 elevated, 28 high), and loses 8 for each documented data partner in a high-risk country.
- Ownership transparency. How plainly the owner can be traced: nonprofit 96, listed company 90, subsidiary of a listed company 86, private 72.
- Security record. Starts at 92. Each documented incident or regulator action lowers it by its severity (critical 30, high 18, medium 9, low 3); documented safeguards such as audits or end-to-end encryption by default add 4 each, up to 8.
- Third-party exposure. Starts at 92 and loses 7 for each analytics, advertising, attribution or session-replay partner the company itself documents.
The grade is the average: A 90+, B 78+, C 62+, D 45+, otherwise F. Every finding links to its source and carries a date. If something is wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
Coverage and limitations
The current registry is a small curated demonstration across websites, mobile apps, SaaS, and connected devices. It is not exhaustive and does not scan your network when you open this site. Ownership and data-routing information can change; verify information with primary sources before relying on it.
